About Us:
Dog Friendly of Ojai is located just outside of Ojai, a beautiful small town that is surrounded by the majestic Topa Topa mountains, about 1 hour north of Los Angeles and 45 minutes southeast of Santa Barbara, California.
Dog Friendly is a home-style, kennel-free daycare and boarding place with lots of secured, open space for dogs to stretch out and run, or they can cuddle together on the many dog beds, pillows and blankets.
Your dog will return pleasantly tired after a day of play and stimulation. That can give you a break; bored dogs need more of your time and attention.
Caring for your dog is our No. 1 priority.
Here, dogs are always supervised indoors and out. No dogs are left outside in the cold or during a heat wave, they all come inside to a heated/air-conditioned room.
At night, all dogs sleep in the house, and they are tucked in to a nice bed-their own or one of ous.
Who is Dog Friendly?
Kay Maxe, credentialed in her native Sweden, is a Certified Dog Behaviorist with 25 years experience honing her skills. She practices only positive methods and has personally trained her capable staff in these techniques.
Kay has published more than 200 articles about training and is an expert on dog behavior. She offers classes and workshops as well as one-on-one training.
According to Kay, "It takes a lot more work to care for dogs the way we do it at Dog Friendly, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We're passionate about providing the highest standard of care."
