Dog Trainers, dog business owners with bad people skills?
whats your exeperience with dog trainers/dog business owners such as daycare facilities, grooming shops. they always seem to have problems and cant deal with people. it seems like they lack in people skills. Ive been working with animals for about 4 years now and ive came to a conclusion that most of the people that own a pet related business, vet, shop, dog day care have the most pathetic people skills.
I agree. I am a vet tech, and I am the first to admit that my people skills are not very strong. I can speak for myself...I have problems with people who get angry because they don't get what they want. For some reason, they expect an animal emergency to take only 15 minutes to cure, and cost no more than a total of 50 dollars. Once they start with the attitude, I just want to leave the room. We never know how they are going to be with their pets. Half are overly obsessed over little things and get angry if we tell them it is not that serious, and the other half couldn't care less and only accuse of taking their money when they have a true emergency.
One of the biggest reasons for this is because people choose careers with animals because they think they will not have to deal with other people. They are very wrong...and so was I.
