DOG FRIENDLY
of Ojai

Our Policy Is Simple:
To provide exceptional, loving care in a kennel-free, homey and dog-friendly environment. And so, we do everything we can to make your dog's stay as fun and positive as possible.

Before Your Dog Can Stay With Us
We invite all prospective guests to come and visit us (we do not accept new dogs over the phone). This gives us a chance to show you around, get to know your dog a little bit and your dog gets an opportunity to meet some of our visiting dogs. Because we follow a schedule every day, you have to set up an appointment for your visit.

We require all dogs to be:
  • Free of communicable diseases and fleas. Flea treatment must have been applied more than 48 hours before visiting since the dogs will play and make physical contact.
  • Current on their vaccinations, and latest vaccination no less than one week before visiting so that antibodies have developed (copy of certificate must be submitted).
  • Dog-friendly and not too anxious so that being here is an enjoyable experience for the dog.

What To Bring When Your Dog Is Boarding
  • Your dog's food together with feeding instructions. Please keep in mind that when dogs are here they play and move around a lot and often work up a good apetite so add some extra food in the container in case your dog will be more hungry than normal. We generally feed the dogs twice a day at around 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Something that smells like home to your dog: A blanket or bed - if your dog has a special one and you think it will make your dog happier. Otherwise, we have plenty of comfy beds, pillows and blankets for the dogs.
  • Do not bring toys or chewing bones unless advised to do so.

When You Pick Up Your Dog
We offer an active environment that provides plenty of mental stimulation and physical exercise. As a result, your dog can be very tired when you pick him or her up, especially after boarding. Many of our dog owners are especially happy about this and bring their dogs for daycare so that they can work off some excess energy. Therefore, should your dog want to withdraw at home and not greet you with the usual exhuberance it's because your dog is tired. This is normal. Just give your dog time to rest and adjust.
